Information about the Barrett's Factory Prison in Richmond, VA during the Civil War.

Formerly the tobacco factory of William Barrett, located on Main street between 23rd and 24th street. Henry "Box" Brown, the famous slave who mailed himself to freedom, worked here before the war.
