From the Richmond Daily Dispatch, 8/2/1861
The Wounded Hessians. - There are several hundred wounded Abolition
soldiers now in this city receiving medical treatment, the majority of whom are
at the general Hospital, North corner of 2d street. It has been found necessary
to establish another Hospital for their use in Ross’ factory, Main street,
nearly opposite the prison depot. Sick Hessians, while receiving every care and
attention at our hands, are attended by seven of their own surgeons.
