ZARVONA ZOUAVES. – My
heart has been made glad – four little girls’ contribution to the Zarvona
Zouaves. Their names are Farnie W. Parker, Sue J. Taliaferro, Sue B. Sutton, and
Ida D. Evans. This offering has left a daguerreotype upon the tablet of memory,
whose ensmelling and gliding to protect from rust and tarnish shall ever be the
readiest dictates of the heart. Girls, I thank you earnestly. You shall hear of
the Zouaves doing their duty cheerfully.
