From the Richmond Dispatch, 11/2/1861, p. 2, c. 2

Rev. Dr. McCabe. – In noticing Rev. Dr. McCabe’s appointment as Chaplain to this post, on yesterday, we omitted to say that he had been transferred from the 32d Regiment Va. Volunteers, stationed on the peninsula, where he has been doing service ever since June last. Dr. McCabe was commissioned by the Governor of Virginia, and subsequently by the Confederate Government.
