From Richmond Dispatch, 6/10/1861, p. 1

Nurses for the Army. – A number of efficient nurses are required by the demands of the service to take proper care of the sick and invalid soldiers who are now contending for liberty against a worse than savage foe. – Knowing the characteristic patriotism of our ladies, we believe on learning the above fact that the question will be with them not who shall go, but who shall stay behind. Ladies who may feel interested in the subject can obtain all necessary information by calling on Mrs. A. F. Hopkins, at the American Hotel.
