From the Richmond Dispatch, 10/10/1862, p. 2, c. 7

THIRTY DOLLARS REWARD – Will be paid for the apprehension and delivery at the Marine Camp, Drury’s Bluff, of any of the following described deserters from the Marine Corps:

Private JOHN N. CARSON, blue eyes, dark hair, 5 feet, 8 ½ inches high, and light complexion.

Private JOHN KELLY, blue eyes, light hair, 5 feet 3 inches high, and light complexion.

Private DUNCAN McDONALD, blue eyes, brown hair, 5 feet 11 ½ inches high, and fair complexion.

Private M. W. WOOD, gray eyes, light hair, 5 feet 8 inches high, and light complexion.

Private JOHN BARRY.
