From the Richmond Dispatch, 10/2/1862, p. 2, c. 2

A little negro boy was run over by the street railway car on Tuesday, on Main street, below 20th, and had several of his limbs broken. Some of the passengers conveyed him to a hospital in the vicinity for medical treatment.
