From the Richmond Dispatch, 11/14/1862, p. 1, c. 3Accident. – On Wednesday night, a slave named Moses, owned by E. H. Chalkley, had several of his ribs broken, on Mayo's bridge, by being run over by a dray. He was trying to avoid an impetuous dragoon, who was urging his steed over the bridge at full speed, and in stepping aside on one of the projecting pieces of the bridge, he missed his footing and fell, and the dray passed over him.
