From the Richmond Dispatch, 12/10/1862, p. 2, c. 3FOR RENT OR LEASE. – A valuable FARM, consisting of twelve hundred acres of land, a large and commodious mansion, in complete order, with every necessary out house, and two other residences, suitable for families, will be rented for the ensuing year, or the Farm would be worked on shares with some gentleman who has a sufficient force to keep it up. Connected with this Farm is a valuable Saw-Mill and a Wheat and Corn Mill, which can all be most profitably run, and can be rented with the Farm. This estate is situated near the county seat of Dinwiddie, on Stoney Creek, in a retired and safe locality, and in a most desirable neighborhood. It is only 14 miles from Petersburg, and on the Boydton and Petersburg Plank Road. The Stock of all kinds, Crops and Plantation Implements, several Servants, and some Furniture, may be had with the Farm. Make early application to the subscriber, at Chimborazo Hospital No. 3.
