From the Richmond Dispatch, 12/22/1862, p. 1, c. 5Prison Items. – The following soldiers were put in Castle Thunder Saturday, charged with desertion, viz: Jesse Edds, co D, 18th Va bet; Wm Kendrick, Whittingham art'y; John Morrissey, W Gill, Letcher bat'y; Jno Murray alias Jno O'Neal, substitute and deserter, Purcell bat'y; John Gzines, sent from hospital No. 19; Trisby Dix and Samuel Pagans, sent by Judge Ould to be court martialed; Jno Callahan, Captain Leake's co, deserter; James Oakley, Hampden artillery, deserter; H P Walker co G, 21st Ga. reg't, drunkenness; A Redden, co C, 52d N C reg't, deserter; Zacheus Champion, Hampden artillery, deserter; James Hix, H W Brown, Holcombe Legion; deserters: R P Kean, claiming to be a Kentuckian, no papers.
