From the Richmond Dispatch, 2/7/1862, p. 2, c. 4
The Senate Hall. - The new apartment for the
accommodation of the Confederate States Senate, in the northwestern corner of
the Capitol, is nearly ready for the reception of that dignified body. It is a
pleasant room, well lighted and comfortably furnished. The decorations, which
are of no great consequence in these times, are probably as suitable as could be
procured, though by no means remarkable for their beauty.
