From the Richmond Dispatch, 5/27/1862, p. 2, c. 5Cutting the Grass. – Certain penitential representatives of the State made an attempt yesterday to mow down the surplus grass lately accumulated on the Capitol Square, but desisted after mowing the portion next to the gubernatorial mansion. A threatened rain stopped the harvest.
