From the Richmond Dispatch, 6/2/1862, p. 2, c. 3Man Shot. – A man named Michael Garritty, confined in the guard-house on Franklin street as a deserter, attempted on Saturday night to escape, and refusing to halt at the command of the sentinel, was shot through the breast, and dangerously, if not fatally wounded.
