From the Richmond Dispatch, 6/2/1862, p. 2, c. 2

The members of Gaines’ Battery, from Portsmouth, Va., request us to return their thanks to Mrs. R. Adams for a sumptuous breakfast presented them by that lady. They arrived in Richmond at midnight on the 28^th ult., and rested on the steps of the Custom House until next morning, when the lady above mentioned gave them cause to remember her kindness.
