From the Richmond Dispatch, 6/6/1862, p. 3, c. 3

NOTICE – I am informed that there is a street rumor to the effect that there is small pox at Winder Hospital. I take pleasure in stating to the public that it is false, and the perpetrator of such a report is a slanderer.

                                                                                                Surgeon in charge.
