Yankee Nomenclature.

We observe that some of our contemporaries are falling into the habit of calling the late fields of our victory by Yankee names. Thus, they say “Fair Oaks,” instead of “Seven Pines,” and “Fort Darling,” instead of “Drury’s Bluff.” Now, we deprecate this habit. The Yankees have no right to give names to our fields, and we hope none that they give will be accepted. “Fort Darling,” indeed! It is Yankee all over; fantastic, baseless, concocted, and in most abominable taste.
