From the Richmond Dispatch, 7/26/1862, p. 2, c. 5

Police Court. – Yesterday, August Fisk, a soldier, charged with stealing $500 from the stocking of Zella Glenman, a nymph, residing at the sinful abode of Ella Johnson, in the rear of the Exchange, was arraigned, the money reproduced, the matter confessed, but not as an intentional theft, and the prisoner sent on for trial. The young man’s apology was that he wanted the stocking for the fun of the thing, and accidentally finding the money in it, took it to camp, where it was found in his tent.
