From the Richmond Dispatch, 8/15/1862, p. 2, c. 5

BROKE loose out of my lot, on the 12th day of August, a large black Mare MULE, about six hands high; two shoes off, one in front and one behind; his mane is slightly roached, and in good working order. A reward of $10 will be given to any person who will deliver him to me, WM. SULLIVAN, in Rocketts, in McCurdy’s Building, opposite Hardgrove’s factory.
