From the Richmond Dispatch, 8/18/1862, p. 2, c. 2

BY THE GOVERNOR OF VIRGINIA – A PROCLAMATION – Information having been received by the Executive that John E. Lehmony, John Fritz Kriebel, Richard Duff, Daniel Broderick, James Coyne, James M. Armour, Julius Sholly, George W. Cassiday, Charles Foster, William Amy, Michael Sheehan, Michael M. McLaughlin, and Thomas F. Eanes, have escaped from the jail of the city of Richmond, and are now going at large; Therefore, I do hereby offer a reward of three hundred and twenty-five dollar to any person or persons who shall arrest the said escaped prisoners and deliver them into the jail of said city of Richmond, or twenty-five dollars for such arrest and delivery of any one of them; and I do, moreover, require all officers of this Commonwealth, civil and military, and request the people generally, to use their best exertions to procure their arrest, that they may be brought to justice.

Given under my hand, as Governor, and under the Less Seal of the Commonwealth, at Richmond, this 15th day of August, in the year 1862.

John E. Lehmony is a German, charged with murder and is about 5 feet, 7 ½ inches in height, dark hair, wears whiskers and moustache, about 28 years of age, and quite good looking.

John Fritz Kriebel is a German, charged with murder, wears long hair, no whiskers, is about 5 feet 5 inches high, dark, sallow complexion, and about 45 years old.

Richard Duff, charged with murder, about 5 feet 4 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair, and wore a goatee, about 25 or 26 years of age.

Daniel Broderick, charged with murder, about 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair, spare made, and wore whiskers.

James Coyne, charged with murder, and Irishman, about 6 feet 1 inch high, sallow complexion, sandy hair, whiskers and moustache, has a defect in one eye, very mean looking, about 30 years of age.

James M Armour, charged with murder, is about 5 feet 7 inches high, dark complexion and hair, very intelligent, and of an impulsive temperament, and member of the 24th Georgia regiment.

Julius Sholly, a German, charged with grand larceny, about 5 feet 6 inches high, has a bright, cheerful face, dark hair, one leg shorter than the other, about 24 or 25 years of age. 

George W. Cassidy, charged with grand larceny, about 6 feet high, dark hair, smooth face, and about 25 years old.

Charles Foster, alias Rigly, charged with grand larceny, about 5 feet 10 inches high, light complexion, very light hair, dark whiskers, and sparely made. About 23 or 24 years old.

William Amy, charged with grand larceny, about 5 feet 10 inches high, light and rosy complexion, dark auburn hair, about 21 or 22 years old, and of good appearance.

Michael Sheehan, charged with highway robbery, about 6 feet high, dark complexion, sandy hair and whiskers, about 25 or 26 years old.

Michael McLaughlin, charged with grand larceny, about 6 feet high, dark hair and complexion, quick in his speech, and of sprightly appearance, about 30 years of age.

Thomas F. Eanes, charged with malicious stabbing, is about 5 feet 100 inches high, light complexion, Roman nose, and rather sharp features, is about 30 years of age, and lately a Lieutenant in the 5th Louisiana regiment.
