From the Richmond Dispatch, 9/1/1862, p. 2, c. 2THE SAMARITAN HOSPITAL, (Y.M.C.A.,) has received during the month of August, the following liberal contributions: Rev. Mr. Bartlett, of S. C., through J. Hall Moore, $10; from the ladies of the “Soldiers’ Aid Society,” (Mrs. Alex Trent, President,) through R. H. L. Tighe, 25 lbs. Butter, six dozen Eggs, 40 Chickens, lot of Apples, Tomatoes, Corn, Potatoes, Herbs, Peas, Bread, Rolls, &C. Also, five bottles Blackberry Cordial. From a number of thoughtful friends in Botetourt county, through W. H. Munday, Hams, Dried Beef, Butter, Eggs, Cheese, Honey, Onions, Potatoes, and a large lot of live Chickens. Also, August 25th, from Mrs. Mildred Lyon, of Yanceyville, N. C., fresh Eggs, Butter, Honey, &c. We return sincere thanks to all of the above donors for their timely remembrance of our wants. JOHN D.
