From the Richmond Dispatch, 9/6/1862, p. 2, c.DESERTED – From Capt. Tucker’s company, 2d North Carolina battalion, (stationed on Belle Island,) JAMES GARALY and THOMAS G. BROWN, lately received as substitutes in said company. The names are doubtless assumed, as others will be when they enter some other battalion for a like purpose. The first named is an Irishman, about 6 feet high. Brown is about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, of a sullen, sinister expression – Thirty dollars reward will be paid for the apprehension and delivery of wither of these rascals to the undersigned. W. J.
