From the Richmond Dispatch, 10/23/1862

Promoted. Lieut. Thomas P. Turner, formerly of the Libby Prison, and late Provost Marshal of Lynchburg, has been promoted to a Captaincy, and ordered to report for duty next week in Richmond as commandant of the Libby Prison. In the meanwhile the latter prison, as well as Castle Thunder, has been put in charge of charge of Capt. Alexander, who will now have to watch the Yankees as they formerly watched him at Fort McHenry.
