From the Richmond Dispatch, 8/6/1862

To be Brought Here. – The 2,500 Yankees, now encamped at the Lynchburg Fair Ground, and consisting mostly of prisoners captured by Stonewall Jackson’s army, are expected in Richmond to-day. Col. G. C. Gibbs, of the 42d N. C. regiment, has had charge of them for some time. The six hundred and odd now at Salisbury, N. C., in charge of Col. Godwin, are also expected here this week. They will be sent hence down the river. Among the prisoners at Salisbury is Col. Wilcox, of the 1^st Michigan regiment, captured at Manassas, the first Yankee military Governor of Alexandria, Va., a very affable and gentlemanly man; also, Lt. Hamblin, son of old Tom, the play-actor, and the notorious Michael Corcoran, Colonel of the 69^th New York – all captured at Manassas.
