From the Richmond Dispatch, 9/15/1862

Respited. – Charles Shelton, a member of the 5th regiment Texas volunteers, who was condemned by Court-Martial to be shot to-day for desertion, was respited by the President on Saturday. The prisoner, who is confined at Castle Thunder, has been receiving religious advice and consolation from several of our city clergymen since his condemnation.
