From the Richmond Dispatch, 7/8/1863Noisy.
- On Monday afternoon last officer Adams arrested Margaret Barrett, a
middle-aged woman, for attempting to force her way into the Libby prison to
furnish the Yankees with bread, and for being noisy and disorderly in the
streets. When called before the Mayor yesterday her tongue broke loose from its
fastenings, and kept up such a continuous uproar and confusion that she had to
be sent to prison before anything else could be heard.
