From the Richmond Enquirer, 9/21/1861, p. 3, c. 2
RELEASE OF YANKEE SURGEONS. - Eleven of the Yankee
Surgeons, taken prisoners at the battle of Stone Bridge, will leave Richmond
this morning for Fortress Monroe via Norfolk, where they will be released on
parole. During their sojourn in Richmond these Surgeons have been quite
assiduous in their attentions to the captive Hessian, and their release has,
probably, been granted as much in consideration of that fact as of their
professional relation to the war.
