THE MAYOR’S COURT. –
This Court was intermittently dim and refulgent, on yesterday, with flash
toggery, bogus jewelry, ugly women, and all sorts of men.
….Daniel, a slave, was
ordered twenty-five lashes for stealing a round of beef belonging to the Grant
Hospital.
