From the Richmond Examiner, 5/16/1864
PRISONERS OF WAR. - On Saturday ten prisoners of war were
entered at the Libby from Mechanicsville, and five from Drewry's Bluff, captured
in an attempt to surprise and take one of the outer works at the Bluff on Friday
night.
Ninety six prisoners, taken at Beaver Dam, in the
Wilderness, and Spotsylvania Court House, were received from Drewry's Bluff and
Bottom's bridge. As before intimated, the great bulk of the prisoners taken by
General Lee are being sent South, via Lynchburg.
