From the Richmond Examiner, 6/4/1864,
p. 1, col. 3
THE YANKEE WOUNDED in Richmond yesterday numbered about
eight hundred. Among them is a number of Butler’s troops, who were wounded and
fell inside our lines in the fighting of Wednesday. They state that Butler has
reinforced Grant to the extent of twenty thousand men, and that he holds his
present lines with less than fifteen thousand men.
