Medical Director’s Office, 1864-65.” p. 132
Medical Director’s
Office, June 27th ‘64
Sir:
I directed the former Surgeon in
Charge Stuart Hospital to have the washing done as it is at Chimborazo Hospital,
principally out of the Hos. and suggest if you are not fully acquainted with the
details, you consult Surgeon McCaw.
It has been found much the most
convenient and economical plan and will dispense with one of the greatest pests
and nuisances about a Hospital – negro wenches.
Very Respectfully &c.
Wm. A. Carrington
Medical Director
Surg. in Charge
Stuart Hospital
