From the National Archives, RG 109, Ch. 6, Vol. 707-709; “Letters Received and Sent, Chimborazo Hospital. 1861-64.” 3 Vols: Vol. 708, p. 102
Sir, You will retain the Bearer Mrs. Stickney in your Hospl until she is able to secure a situation.
Surg. Habersham [Surgeon in Charge Div. 2] To Surg. J. B. McCaw The written order relates to a woman who I discharged from the Hospital after having hired her for a month, and finding her insubordinate and a pest and complained of on all sides, refused to retain her. It seems she has worked upon the feelings of the Med. Director. I of course shall obey the order, but with this protest, that she is a dangerous character about a Hospital. S. E. Habersham
