Surgeon McCaw, or Surgeon on duty at Chimborazo, must receive as many sick as the hospital can accommodate, &(?) the number must go up to 3,500 or 3700, which the hospital has accommodated. The men must be crowded for a few days.

I am directed by the Surg. Genl to inform you that Chimborazo must be pressed for the present, to its utmost capacity; and that the no. of wounded received lately, must not now ____ the least diminution of its general capacity.
