Surgeon McCaw will proceed with as little delay as
practicable to
Danville
for the purpose of establishing hospitals in that city – He will select a
sufficient number of factories to accommodate five thousand (5,000) patients –
and will make the proper requisitions on the Qr. Master of the post, for the
proper hiring, cleaning, and fitting up these buildings – making bunks,
&c. He will confer with Surgeon Blackford, if he is there, on the subject.
On the completion of this duty, he will return to this city & resume his
duties.
