The Post Office. – The removal of the appurtenances
of the city post office to the Spotswood Hotel took place, yesterday, in
consequence of which there was a temporary suspension of the delivery of
letters, and opening of mails. The clerks were busily occupied, yesterday, in
effecting the transfer, and will doubtless be prepared this morning, to resume
their official duties. The new post-office does not of course possess all the
conveniences which pertain to the one just vacated, but it will do until the
establishment and growth of our new Republic shall justify better arrangements.
