Mayor’s Court. – The following cases were disposed
of by the Mayor yesterday:
…John Collins was charged with receiving blankets stolen
from the Jackson Hospital. It appeared that a free negro, being arrested for
stealing a lot of blankets from the hospital, confessed that he had sold them to
Collins, who lives on 7th street, near Broad. Officer Perrin, on
searching Collins’ house, found a blanket and coverlet, marked “Camp Jackson,”
both of which were identified by a gentleman from the hospital as part of the
stolen property. Collins was sent on for petty larceny.
