Stealing Nails. - John Straylor, a German, about forty years old, was brought before the Mayor yesterday, on the charge of stealing nails from the Tredegar Iron Works. Straylor is an operative at the works. Six months ago he was caught stealing nails, but the Superintendent pardoned him on his appearing to be contrite and promising to sin no more. Recently, quantities of nails being found to be disappearing mysteriously, a watch was set to catch the thief, and Straylor was caught with his dinner bucket full of eight penny nails. The Mayor sent him on for petty larceny.
