BRIEF MENTION. - Mr. John M. Francisco has been appointed Clerk of the Confederate prisons, in this city, by Brig. Gen. Winder. - On Friday last 239 Yankee prisoners were released by exchange, and sent to the vicinity of Newport News, on a Government steamer. - During the last three months, the fines collected by the police of this city, amounted to $675.
