MARTIAL LAW. - Yesterday morning, the following arrests on
charges of disloyalty, were made by the detective police of this city: John
Minor Botts, Franklin Stearns, Valentine Heckler, J. M. Higgins, B. Wardwell,
Charles Miller, and ___ Doff. The prisoners are lodged in a jail situated in
Lumpkin’s Alley. It will be seen by the Proclamation in to-day’s paper that
MARTIAL LAW has been established here. King Alcohol is dethroned at last, and
the reign of disorder and violence will now cease. All good citizens will
rejoice; the bad only will tremble.
