From the Richmond Whig, 1/9/1863, p. 1, c. 5FLAG OF TRUCE. – Another truce boat from Fortress Monroe is expected at City Point today. Directions were received yesterday to send down five hundred Yankee prisoners from Richmond and if railroad transportation can be secured for that number, they will be sent this morning. It is understood that a large number of Southern ladies, who for some time past have been detained at Fortress Monroe, will arrive by the steamer. Some of these ladies have been North for the purpose of securing cheap bargains in dry goods, and their protracted absence has proved a source of no little anxiety to their friends here.
