From the Richmond Whig, 1/18/1864, p. 1, c. 2
TAKEN PRISONER. - We learn
that Mr. Ingram, formerly proprietor of the St. Charles Hotel, was captured by
the Yankees in Richmond County, last week. He was acting in the capacity of
agent for the purchase of bacon and other supplies for the government; and it is
stated that he had purchased and stored away the large amount of bacon reported
in another column as destroyed.
