From the Richmond Whig, 4/18/1864, p. 1, c. 3PUGNACIOUS. - A one-eyed young man named Cornelius Sexton was before the Mayor on Saturday on the charge of assaulting and beating another young man named Oliver McSweeney. Both parties were hands at the Tredegar Works. Last Wednesday evening Sexton ran up against McSweeney, and then drawing a slungshot, struck him over the head with it. He Mayor sent Sexton on to the Hustings Court for trial.
