DIED OF LOCKJAW. - Ten days ago a fine saddle horse of Governor Smith's attempted to jump over the railing which separates the Governor's yard from the Capitol Square. He failed to clear the fence, and three of the sharp arrow-headed railing stuck into his belly, causing three very bad wounds. He received all the attention that could be bestowed on a pampered favorite, and for several days appeared in a fair way of recovery; but on Thursday was seized with lockjaw, and expired in a few hours. He breathed his last in the Capitol Square, where his remains were still lying at 10 o'clock this morning.
