This view, long identified as Hollywood Cemetery, is in truth Oakwood Cemetery - across the city from Hollywood. The proof of this lies in the simple reading of the tall tombstone at right - upon magnification, the tombstone clearly reads "Geo W. Doss; 11th Regt, Ala Vols." There is no one of this name located in Hollywood Cemetery, though there is in Oakwood. His grave is located at plot CN63 in Oakwood. His large tombstone has been replaced with the simple stone cube that litter the Oakwood landscape, but the terrain remains the same. To see a detail of the tombstone, click here.
