The Penitentiary. - The damage done to this institution by the recent fire, will amount in money to about $8,000 - a much less sum than was at first supposed. Owing to Col. Pendleton’s judicious arrangements, and hard work on the part of a portion of his subjects, a great deal was saved. We are pleased to find that the injury is so slight.
