From the Richmond Dispatch, 5/16/1862, p. 2, c. 3Acquitted. – Having noticed the incarceration of Isaiah Respass, Mayor of Washington, N.C., in Castle Godwin, on the charge of treason, it is but just to that individual to state that he has been tried before the Military Court-Martial and honorably acquitted.
