From the Richmond Dispatch, 8/12/1862, p. 2, c. 6

LOST. – About dusk on Monday evening, 11th instant, some person without authority took from the lot attached to the hospital, corner Main and 3d streets, a small, heavy framed, sorrel MARE. At the time she had on a much worn English saddle, felt saddle-blanket, and light halter bridle. Any person will be liberally rewarded who will inform me of her whereabouts, or deliver her to me at Gen. Lee’s headquarters.

W. H. TAYLOR.
