Sir:
The Stuart Hospl – cap. 400 – is
being opened as a Receiving Hospl for sick and wounded coming by the
Fredericksburg Depot.
If the Recg & Way Hos. becomes
filled you will transfer 400 to this Hos retaining a sufficient no to go to Pbg
to-morrow as directed. I design transferring a no of men from 250 – 400 to
Danville tomorrow and will let you know in time. In the interim, retain such for
this purpose as will not be fit for any duty in 15 days and upwards.
