From the Richmond Whig, 6/2/1862, p. 1, c. 2

DESERVED COMPLIMENT. - The President has conferred upon Captain Augustus H. Drewry the rank of Major of Artillery, and very properly continues him on duty at Drewry’s Bluff, (now Fort Drewry.). No single man has done more to defend Richmond than Major Drewry, and no company deserves to be recollected and honored more than the men under his command.
