From the Richmond Whig, 9/15/1864, p. 1, c. 4MAYOR'S COURT. - ...David Ham, a free negro was charged with receiving towels, sheets, &c. stolen from the Stewart Hospital. - The Mayor discharged him, finding that the Steward of the hospital, had already administered to Ham a sound but well deserved thrashing.
