Sir        Your last note was duly handed to us. In reply would say that we have 10 vacant beds which we would like to fill with sick & not convalescent patients, provided they are in your opinion able to be transferred with propriety. We have here some 75 or 80 patients from other States besides Louisiana which, as they are mostly convalescent, we would be more than happy to exchange with you.
